About me

About me photograph for Fascia and Physio website

I graduated from Griffith University in Australia with a Bachelors in Exercise Science and a Masters in Physiotherapy. I immigrated to the UK, and worked in the NHS on the respiratory, medical, oncology wards and in musculoskeletal clinics for over 10 years.  This experience has been vital in helping me to view my clients in a holistic way and to consider how much of our musculoskeletal system is influenced by other systems in our body.

Whilst working, I realised there was something missing in my treatments and outcomes.  I began to search for something that was more comprehensive, looking at the influence of the whole body not just the injured area.

My research took me to Italy, to meet the Stecco Team and learn Fascial Manipulation. After 3 years of learning and combining the technique within my clinic setting I became a Certified Fascial Manipulation Specialist, one of only a handful in the UK. This technique focuses on improving the tension, movement and gliding of fascia within the body and treating the cause of your symptoms (further information on my FAQs page!).

Having been a high level athlete in my youth, and with lots of niggles and recreation stopping injuries since, I have found that Fascial Manipulation is effective in keeping me moving and exercising as I want.

This evidence based technique allows me to treat the body in a holistic way, from addressing the influence of the skin, how to improve the quality of movements and most importantly to help improve all types of pain around the body.

After applying this technique to my physiotherapy practice, I then began to seek further knowledge of the influence of scars on the body, its integrity and function, not only in early recovery but also years down the line. I am passionate to educate those with scars on how best to care for them, especially in the early days where significant improvements can be made.

I’d love to help you heal more, move more and embrace you!
